Welcome back to the Trailblazing Unleashed NYC Trip! For day three, we had another rainy day full of adventure and fun. We started off with another lucky charms filled breakfast at the Bread Factory and then set off for the American Musuem of Natural History.

This museum could well take over a day to see everything, but we speed ran two exhibits in just under two hours. We saw their work on Ancient Civilizations in Central and South America, which seemed aptly timed for Indigenous Peoples Day this weekend.
Then we moved on to the prehistoric creature’s section on the fourth floor, which I absolutely loved! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of dinosaurs, and this exhibit reminded me of that. Trace also loved the dinosaurs but was incredibly confused the whole time.

From there we got to see the planetarium show, and that made me feel smaller than I have ever felt in the best way. It focused on planetary movement and the expanse of the universe. It was also surprising service dog friendly! Trace slept for most of it tucked up under my seat but ended up finishing the show in my lap. The Natural History Museum was also incredibly service dog friendly as a whole and only asked the legally allowed questions of us both.
After the museum we went to lunch at Cafe Eighty-Two, which had one of the most expansive gluten free menus I have ever seen. It spanned over two pages and had one of the best English muffins I have ever had.

Once we had all eaten, our group split up to a few locations. Some of us went to the NYC Public Library, others went to the Seinfeld apartment, and Trace and I went back to the hotel for a quick nap. One of the most important things you can do as a disabled traveler is to get enough sleep! This will really make a difference as you push your body to the limit on your adventures.
After our nap, we headed to dinner at the Little Beet. This was another amazing gluten free restaurant that had a menu full of options for all our dietary restriction peeps. We left dinner to head to our first Broadway show of the trip, Operation Mincemeat! This show was so incredible I left with two souvenirs and horrifyingly messy eyeliner. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone. I’ll do another article soon about Broadway shows for you and your service dog, so don’t forget to stay on the look out for that one!

We then took a quick walk through Times Square for a bit of sightseeing, and then went back to the hotel.
Day three was a lot more of the toursity side of NYC, but I loved it all the same! A good day filled with art can rarely be topped. Day four is filled with more professional visits with our group, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, Trailblaze on!
